    newb looking for tips...

Hi...... i am a outdoor grower and have done some research but still need expert opinions.....

my plants are in a spot that is somewhat shady in the morning.. i would not say they get 12hrs of sun beating on them a day.. but they are growing nicely....

do i need to induce a photoperiod?? ex. cover them at 6:30pm and unconver them at 6:30am??

i dont want the plants to get too huge either...

here are some pics... should i begin flowering the bigger one now??? should i cut off some of the leaves that are the size of my hand?? Where to cut them??

also there a few leafs that are kinda yellow... should i trim the yellow off??

also should i start thinning my onions hahaha....

    Thanks

well man whats the biggest you want them to get and no leave the leaves on there they help the plant get its energy/food they will fall off later own when its time to harvest

Well first no pulling leaves as they are going to build your buds for ya. And the pots you have will be root bound in no time. If the get tall just bend them over. Hell i put one in the ground sideways to get better branch budding. If they get tall you can hide them easy. Maybe fim them as this will help them not get tall, but bushy with multiple colas. I got 7 last year.

If you could put them into the ground some night and let nature do its thing, im sure you would have a better harvest. If they are only getting the direct light like you said, they will flower faster then one getting 12 hours. As the season ends the light cycle is shorter, which makes the plant think its getting to fall and flower to catch pollen.

Id fill out those pots and re pot into 5gal buckets and fim them. Yield would be good and they will stay short. It will work bro, here is one i grow in a grow tray, but after i took the colas. I think this tray is less then 5 gal of space, so a 6 gal bucket would work great. When ya re pot, just put the plant in sideways, this will help you grow it along the ground, its easy. Just stake it down by tyeing the top and bend down to the ground and tie it to something. If ya look at my thread here, you can see how i put one in sideways. It came outta a 5 gal bucket, but was root bound.

good luck man, im here for advise too
