    1st ebb/flow grow

hey thanks JH7....the nutes thing was from what i can tell pretty acturatly

on the mark at 300ish ppm's up until a month or so ago. This is week 11 from
seed and i've had'm up to 600ish ppm but now they are down to
400ish ppm and watering 2x / day cause i thought they were getting to much
water, NOT nutrients....See, the roots in the water / nutrients, is the problem
I think ! ? But then i see Scottcc5c post pictures and WOW his plants
are doing the same thing except his plants are in full BLOOMINATION !
So, i reckon i'll move on to other issues if they arrive, cuz'n the condition
    may be normal !

Mainly, my question is WHAT DO OTHERS DO ABOUT ROOTS SITTING IN
WATER / NUTRIENTS when using hydroton set up with EBBA & FLOEY SYSTEMS

    Zeffern Zoot Alures !

    1st ebb/flow grow

As far as nute strength goes I have been following label recommendation. Not experienced enough to say yes or no too much or not on the nutes but I can say that I am very happy with how heavy/thick plants are with buds with 2 weeks to go. Wish I could post some pics. I have a mix of plants (7 sativa and 5 indica/sativa) and will never do that again.

As far as your question about what guys do and roots sitting in the 1 inch of water at the bottom of the ebb/flow buckets. I do/did nothing on this grow and I have never read anything that says its an issue.

Tiny or other guys might give opinions about the roots sitting in 1 inch of water all the time.

    1st ebb/flow grow

One more thing in this question of 1 inch of standing water and the bottom of the ebb/flow buckets.....

Few months back at my hydro store where I bought my system the store was trying an experiment using the same system I have. What they did was put a 1 inch block under each bucket to raise it up so that water would drain out after each cycle. I never followed up with the hydro store to see if it made any difference or not but there's an idea for you if you want to try it.

    Thanks scottcc5s ,
Yeah, i tried that, except i did it wrong. The correct method is to raise the HYDROTON BUCKETS, not the water buckets ! Tinytoon's idea was to install
3or4" x 1 1/2" pvc pipe in the bottom of the WATER BUCKETS for better drainage. If one places blocks under the water buckets ( raising both buckets )
this would cause the buckets to, over-fafafloey !

    " wish i could stop ! ...but i prowly won't...cuz'n i can't !...nonono i shouldn't !

Umm sorry that is not correct. All the people I have helped setting one of these things up was to make sure all buckets were at the same height. I also explained what would happen if they were not at same height either way.
What I stated was to take a piece of PVC of whatever diameter you want (I'm going to use 4" because thats what is laying around downstairs) about 2" tall and place under the LINER so the bottom was no longer in the water. Lastly in that statement I thanked Daddynobucks for the info because he was the person that informed me of this.

    First off, beautiful plants Scott...

Yeah, the way i wrote that explanation of the bucket set up is confusing
but it was suppose to be the way Tinytoon and Daddynobucks explained it ! ! LOL

That is how i have mine set up ! ! ! The tubes for height, go in
    the water buckets !

    Thanks again,
    Zeff
