Bummer about the seedlings, but it seemed likey to happen. But, old plants are old news...just don't fry the new batch, lol. Keep on top of their moisture, that light will dry 'em out quick.

I'd transplant when the leaves all overhang the cup. And yes, a 'normal' indoor potting mix would be wise. Most commercial potting mixes are fine, as long as it's ph buffered, and has perlite.

If forced to use soil with time release nutes, go with the one that only lasts a couple of months. Avoid those that last 4-6 months.
Rusty Trichome Reviewed by Rusty Trichome on . trouble with 2 week old seedlings!Help please!! I am a first time grower. I have 5 2 week old seedlings that germinated by way of propagation kit and sprouted just fine. however i put them under a 120 watt sylvania spot gro at first because my 1000 watt MH hadnt came in yet. well the seedlings started turning yellow a couple days after i put them under the spot gro light and seemed to stop growing. I had them about 1 foot away from the light for these 2 days and then moved it to about 4 feet after they started looking worse. the cotelydons Rating: 5
