    dust on leafs?

is there a normal residue that is found on the leafs or should they be smooth? i am new to this so i dont know if this is normal or what. it looks like verry fine sugar untill i rub some off and it seems to disolve, it smells verry organic, i know crystals are a god thing but this has ben thre for a while now and is increasing slightly on the new 12/12 schedule?

i gently wiped one of the stems to a large leaf and found that the residue is there also, could these be tiny hairs? it has the same potent organic smell to it

almost microscopic but you can see it on the edge of the leaf

i dont think hairs grow on the leaves. sometimes in flowering, you will see trichs (i think) on the inner parts of the leaves very close to the bud. but other than that i dont know. sorry not much help

I 2 have the same problem. Did some research and found out its PM powdery mildew. I've posted on here also trying to get some answers. But haven't yet. Will try new website if no answers on here from fellow growers.

    dust on leafs?

i have come to conclude to my self that what i found is normal. it is verry hard to see with the maked eye. i know that molasses is said to increase trichomes and what not. i was useing MG organic ferts durring veg (8-0-0) and later cane to learn that it comes from sugar beat molasses so im assumeing that that simply made whatever hairs or crystals just grow a tiny bit more makeing them noticeable to me after inspecting them like 3 inches away from my eye for hours. i dont know shit but i think this is what i am dealing with. if you click on one of thoes pics and open it in a new window you can zoom in far enough to see they resemble a trich rather than a mold spore. they are clear and reflect the light from the camera as i have taken lots of photos and done this and they are evenly spread out which is not a charicteristic of mold or fungi. agean i dont know shit and this is only my hopefull hunch but everything points to this being normal and me just being new.

either way i have a bug problem that i am dealing with now. that is my main concern. i think i have beat them tho.

ty for the input tho. let me know if you find anything out about this because i never solved it for sure and like i said, i could be verry wrong

    happy growingc and good luck

i was also thinking about trying a new website, as i have gotten very little help on this one. i will give credit to weezard and rustytrichome for answering to my post. i just think there are too many people like us with questions, and not enough people who can actually help out. there are a select few posters on this site who really seem to know their shit. but far more novices.

Gotta do what ya gotta do. But freaking out is likely the last option I'd chose, especially after a holiday weekend where nobody has been around.

If you really think it's powdery mildew, fill-out the troubleshooting form, and include some fresh pix. Search onsite for pix of actual powdery mildew, and compare to yours.

Google "cystolith hairs", and do some research.

Many plants have trichomes of some sort or another.

Ok...freaking-out isn't the best wording I could have used. How about...being an ass, slamming our membership, then wanting us to overlook the insult, and help your impatient ass anyway.

Next time, perhaps you could use your brain and figure-out it was a friggin holiday, and it was YOUR timing that was off, not ours. But yeah...I can see where newbies can get under your skin. Always demanding, always right, always impatient, and wanting their own concerns addressed before any other cannabis patient onsite. I've seen a couple of 'em around here...but they usually don't last long.

dude. im not one for internet confrontations, well im not one for confrontations at all really. you wanna be an ass and talk this way to me over the internet, go ahead. i really dont think that i was getting in anyones way or slamming anyone about anything in my posts here. in fact i praised you! my thread has been up for almost a month now, and ive only bumped it once and gave a few updates on my situation. whats the big deal? and so i agreed with someone on this site and gave my two cents, is a forum no longer a place to talk to other people about things pertaining to the forum? and how was MY time off and something about a holiday??? i dont get it. anyways, im gonna take my noob ass out of your precious little cannabis community and not worry about this *hit anymore.

    pc:thumbsup:

Please stay on topic! If we all did that peoples answers will get answered and no ones toes will be smashed in the process.

I too have some of what you have on my babies that are a week into flowering I dont pay it any mind. Plant looks healthy, smells great , and the leaves feel fine. Not too dry or brittle. It maybe dust in any case I try rubbing my thumb across the leaves and if it comes off good and if it doesnt just leave it.
