Adding a new plant...
Heyall, a friend just gave me a 3 foot tall, beautiful and healthy plant. I know the root system must be massive. It's currently in his garden, but it needs to be moved because his parents are moving back to the US. I need to safely dig it up and somehow transport it to my house. I have a car but digging it it up is the problem.
Should I just put it in a 5 gallon bucket or something? How deep and wide should i dig when transplanting it, so I don't hurt the roots? And could I just put the whole 5 gallon bucket on the ground, or do i need to dig a new hole and put the plant into that at it's new location?
Thanks in advance,

Id did deep and far around. But id put it in the ground cuz my 3' plant got root bound in my 5 gal and had to put it in the ground. And just put it in a bag, burlap if ya got one, then put it in your trunk, she will be fine after a few days in the ground.

New hole for sure, just look at the plants roots and bury it deep as roots will shoot from the bottom of the stalk.
