Does your friend have his plants outside, or in a window sill? It looks like possibly your plants are getting more direct sunlight, which is a good thing. They get too tall and are not as strong if they don't have enough light.

Yours look good. Just let them dry out before you water them again.

First-time Grower - Need some help I had 2 seeds received from a friend of mine and from the lack of experience I planted them both in the same pot(I'm thinking this is a bad thing). Plants are 5 days old and I don't know if I should transplant them now into separate pots or let them grow a bit more. Does transplanting slow the growth in this stage?
