Changes for Patients?
What changes are there for patients on July 1?
I'm confused...Do we have to choose one dispensary/care giver and can only buy from them?
I also kind of expected to see some "going out of business" sales, but haven't seen any. Does this mean that most dispensaries are staying in business?
I'd appreciate any advice, since the deadline is only two days away from the time of this post...hizeman Reviewed by hizeman on . Changes for Patients? What changes are there for patients on July 1? Changes for Patients?
These two bills contain two provisions that affect CO MMJ patients. The first is the five patient per caregiver limit. The second is a prohibition against a caregiver designating a patient as his own caregiver. The laws that go into effect over the next year are exclusive to dispensaries and will not impact you. There is no additional paperwork or other requirements for current patients.
You do not have to choose a dispensary or a caregiver. As a patient, you can buy marijuana anywhere you like - from a dispensary, from a caregiver, or from a kid at the Widespread Panic show. A lot of people on this forum believe the cumulative effect of the new regulations on dispensaries will be to limit availability and drive down quality, as well as put a lot of dispensaries out of business. I disagree with the first two predictions, but I do expect some dispensaries to fail as the "green rush" fades and as dispensaries come under regulation like other businesses.
