Can I Grow a non autoflower and keep it under 3 feet?

I'm currently growing some lowryder #2. It is my first attempt at growing im using a 400w halide for veg and a 400w hps for flowering. Hope that should work for about ten ryders. But my question is if I were to grow and strain like ak-47 could i keep it fairly small? I heard if LST but im nervous about trying it is there anything else you can think of? Or a morons guide to LST? Thanks much

Most indica dominant autoflowers will stay small naturally. If it starts getting to tall all you can do is either trim it or tie it over.
