    Need some advice

    1. I am having a huge issue on how to germinate a seed for hydro. I have used the napkin method and when the root is about 1/4 inch I transfer it to a rockwool cube it just does not grow. Any one know how to germinate in a rockwool cube or am I doing something wrong.

1.A. Anyone have a sure way to germinate from seed for hydro?

    2. I am using a 5gallon bucket with a 4 inch net pot I put about 1 1/2 to 2 inches of hyroton at the bottom and then place the rockwool cube with the 1/4 rooted seedling in and fill with hydroton. My question is, should the water level be under the net pot or how far into the water should the net pot be?

I am trying DWC with a 5 gallon bucket, have two air stones making plenty of bubbles, the ph is kept between 5.5 and 6.5, and I am not using any nutrients till I get a few sets of true leaves. I am runing 2 or 4 T5 bulbs.

Step one....insert seed into rockwool cube.
    Step two....water
    Step three....repeat step two

    Failing that.....

Fold paper towel into 2 so that you have 1/4 a sheet 4 layers deep. Wet nicely. Open one time and insert seeds. Close towel. Now comes the part you have been missing. Grab a plastic baggie and put your towel in there. Check daily for moisture, but other then that don't touch it. Let the sprouts grow dude till they form leaves, not the food buds you think are leaves. A good sprout can be about 4" long before I will do anything with it, usually with tiny roots already branching out from the tap root and that's from the paper towel method. Plants need nothing but water for the first couple weeks anyway, so there is no reason to be so quick to transfer them. Make sure they are nice a juicy before you transplant.

Personally I would just stick the seed about 1/2 down into the rockwool and it will be just fine from there on out. No reason to even transplant.

So I can either place it in the paper towel and wait for a good set of leaves to form while in the paper towel.

Or I can place the seed directly into the rockwool and then into the DWC bucket. How far into the water should the net pot be or do I need to keep it out of the water and hand water it every other day till I get a sprout.
