Next time ya dig your holes, put your pots in to see if the size of hole you dug will fit your plants perfect. Also, it could be the pic, but they look close to each other. You might want to tie a plant one way and the next the other and so on. They will get used to the soil you put them into and next time, just let the soil dry out before doing any re potting as they will slide right out of the pot.

When ya top a plant you basically cut the top off right above the node or leave set. A Fim is cutting the tips of the very new growth, my favorite. This will give you from 4 to who knows tops. I got 7 with my Fim last year.
