hey, thanks guys for kudos and encouragement and feedback! LSY and Dru, your plants look great, too. Mr Carpenter dude, you are so lucky to be way up there at the other end of this continent... you could set up my indoor ... ah, nevermind. It's late and i'm silly.
We had a fabulous rain last night. It was so good, the electricity even went out for a little while. So nice to get real rain on the garden. Went out this evening to check on the girls, and to give them a dose of their nutes: i make a bucket of worm shit / horse shit tea and give each plant a cuppa.
I guess I'm going to have to tie them, after all. The places where I pinched the stalks are working hard at healing themselves. I tried to show one of the bends in a photo for you... you can barely tell that I did a little s&m ... :wtf:
@LSY: none of my cannabis plants are within 3 feet of each other. I guess what looked like two plants to you was actually one. they do get really bushy when they're topped in their infancy.
Photos, if you're interested... in their usual order: Oprah, Sophia, Angelina, and baaaa, oh i mean Dolly. plus one extra pic of one of Sophia's knobby knees. (Size reference - that blue pail holds one gallon.)peace :hippy:

I went out and worked on tying down the branches on my little trees... got two of them done, and then the ants chased me away when I went over by Dolly and Angelina. I'll have to have another go at them tomorrow. And try to figure out what to do about the blasted ants!!! I was wearing sandals, and the tiny buggars set my toes on fire!
Didn't have my camera in hand... I'm trying not to bore you to tears... but my gawd! Angelina is suddenly just as big as her two older sisters. She LIKED that little drink of shit tea she got a couple days ago! I'm lovin' it
peace :hippy:

Heya... just thot you might want a good recipe for getting rid of those little pests.
Take ½ icing sugar and mix with ½ Borax (yup, good ole 20-mule-team Borax). Mix well, and then put in little containers that will keep it from getting wet, but that the ants can still get in. Place containers near nest.
The drones will happily take bits of Borax/icing sugar back to the queen, who will eat them. And then die. And then the colony will follow suit, soon, too.
Most commercial ant-solutions are basically this recipe.
Hope this helps!

@(c)C: thank you, thank you, thank you!!! oh, and did I say 'thank you!'?
I knew there was a simple remedy out there somewhere, but I couldn't remember what it was. I did not get brave enough to go out there again this evening. My toes still tingle a little from yesterday. Tomorrow will get some borax and powdered sugar. Happy toes, happy plants ... :thumbsup:peace :hippy:

...you're soooo welcome!
You seem like a nice person, and not one who deserves to be gnawed upon by ravening insectoids! Who, for all you know, wanted your lovely medicine to farm bloody aphids on!
It has been a while, so I can't remember if you have to wet the mix initially a bit to 'cake' it, or just the mix itself works. I think it works just fine dry, but I /know/ it's something that works. The Borax is toxic to the head beastie, and the icing sugar is the enticement.
Best of all, this particular cure is Buddhist Certified. You're not actually killing them! It's not as if the ants have to go eat that... they could eat other stuph...
Not that I'm a Buddhist.

Stopped by the Dollar Store this afternoon and picked up a bottle of boric acid. The store didn't have powdered sugar, and i didn't want to go to another store, so i substituted a package of sugar cookie mix... it's almost pure sugar, anyway, and right after sugar on the ingredients list is high fructose corn. Back at home, mixed up a bit of the ant medicine and took it out back. 'Planted' three doses, and waited around long enough to see that the pesky little buggars are indeed carrying the treasure home. Yippee!!! :rastasmoke:
I took the camera out with me, too, to get a look at how the plants were responding to being tied down. They are more horizontal than vertical at the moment, at least Oprah and Sophia are. I got a pic of each of them, and one of Angelina, who still has not been tied down yet. Then the batteries in the camera died. I had fooled around taking a few pics of the corn and sunflower, and battery died before I finished. So you'll see Dolly again next time! Here's today's pics...peace :hippy:
