Its also funny you cry about this supposed torture at gitmo and yet advocate killing people you deem "Republicans".......i know that post is still on here. Sounds like your JUST like the extremists you falsely claim to battle. Interesting.:hippy:

"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
    -Ben Franklin

I defer to Ben on the subject.
Voting GOP this year is like giving the keys back to the drunk driver that wrecked the economy when they show no remorse for their actions and haven\'t even sobered up yet.

The thing that gets me are people who, when it suits our perceived needs, see no problem with semi-legal prisons, detention without trial, secret testimony, "moderate physical pressure" (actually that's an Israeli euphemism for torture but we've expropriated it as though it were just a few dunums of land...). We are taking on the trappings of so many of the regimes we detest. People would do well to watch fewer hours of 24 and instead study history.
Sam Alioto and Dick Cheney both used the serial offender/star of 24 in real life examples of policy choices and influences of their thinking. it's as if the NEOCONS wrote the story lines to scare people into cheering on the War on Terror. In some discussion I read on huffpo or some other progressive news source, they referred to times where both these guys said something to the effect "If Jack Bauer did it, would you prosecute him"? It's not surprising that we were torturing folks in gitmo in secret at the time.

On another note did anyone notice the NY Times admitting to stop using torture because the Bush administration didn't approve? Since when does the independent press take orders from the government it's supposed to be policing as part of our checks and balances of democracy?

Oh you are going to enjoy this article by Robert Fisk. A bit long but well worth reading to the end: Fighting talk: The new propaganda. The man nails it every time.

Of course a few of them had to be tortured to death before the PR campaign started up. Just another campaign lie told by another politician. He was going to get us out of Iraw and Afghanistan from what I remember too.lol
Its all a lie people. Muslims would be of no threat to us if we stopped occupying there terrority. But then its in our blood isn't it? Its how our country was born. By occupying it and forcing the natives onto smaller and smaller patches of land. If someone did that to us in America, we would do the same thing.

Gitmo, Extraordinary Rendition, warrantless searches, endorsing death sentences against US citizens without due process, etc., etc.

We're in quite the sticky wicket now my friends.

    I want my mum.
