I knew people a few years back who could walk into the bank and get it cashed. One of the reasons I was given was they had to make sure it was legit. US Bank said, we will cash it and give me $100 now, and I would have access to the rest the next day. O'Really? I mean US Bank gives me a $100, holds the balance overnight (interest collected by them under their industry written rules), and I don't get squat but the balance or just access to the balance.

Chase had sent me one of those come-ons for $100 if I opened an account. It had some free (sic) stuff like checking, no minimum balance, etc. But their debit card charges kick in after 5 uses. That's how they get their $100 back so they ain't givin' a person diddly.

I'm beginning to see it as a move by the government to force all monetary transaction into the electronic world.

I or anyone else should be able to demand from any bank insured by the federal government, cash for a check issued by the federal government without reservation with the proper ID. And I intend to write Patty Murray and any other democrat and let them know that if they support banks being able to do this then they won't get my vote, nor will their opponent. I will give me vote to the Zig Zag Man on a write-in. Fuck 'em. imp:
