Man im working with dial-up so thats why so slow. Any way, how big is your plant and does it have many leaves. Also did you dig a hole and put soil in before ya put er in? Its just that it looks like that soil around it look like clay. Just wondering man, cuz it would be tough to get your roots to grow in it. Do ya have a pic of the hole plant you could put up as thats just a bit of funky growth. Iv seen some odd shit on lower stems before, but if it hurting your plant, it should show something in the growth or over all plant, if ya got one an il look at her
Oh i see now the pic just got big enough for me to see what your talking about. A fucking vermit has chewed your stem bro. Just put masking tape around it. Should be ok, but id get on it cuz the sun will bake it and will not be able to pull anything from the ground and die. It will cut all water, ferts and minerals from feed the plant. But masking tape wrapped tight, from top to bottom of the chew. If ya got steel wool put so around the stem, if it was an animal that chews it will stop it and will keep snails off. Im using it now for snails and believe me they do damage.

It will work man and if its close and you could get to it now, water the leaves. And use masking tape tonight if you can and water it. Just leave it on there it will fall off and wont hurt anything.

Sorry bro, but this is your best bet man:rasta:

actually its not just on one plant...its on 2....one of them is a bit bigger...the brown areas look identical on both except the larger plant has a larger area on the stem that is brown.....here is a pic of each plant

It really doesnt look like a bug ate my stem.......it jus looks very brownish....smaller than the rest of the stem....and kinda wooden...althoguh it is still supporting the weight of the plant..

If you look close at the pic that i posted previously...of the brown stem....you can see a leaf that tried to grow but died from that area....

Well then hows your drainage man. I had a plant with similar crap happening and found that it had little drainage. But the above ground growth had twisted leaf growth and over all look funky in areas on the plant. It ended up hermy.

What are you growing in, cuz it looks like Wood chips? The water can cause small pools that will not get used and roots drown. If ya got really good drainage, then great, but i though i did and the plant got too stressed.

BTW that is a chew mark man, just look at what a snail did in this pic in two days man.

And then my plant that didn't have the right drainage that went crazy on me.

Just a heads up bro, not saying this is your issue, but id tape the exposed part of that stem for sure as it cant hurt ya. But could help.

Or maybe im just not getting your question as a brown spot of your stem could be rot, but other then that id have to go with the above advise. Also, iv never heard of ''damping'' before?

If ya got more or im just not getting it, post as id like to help:thumbsup:
