putting stix in the soil
Be sure to use a thin stick with a sharpened end. Place it 6 - 8 inches from the stalk so that you are not piercing the mass of the root ball. Angle the stick a bit inward toward the top of you plant. Ideally these go in before the plant is too large so that you avoid damage to the roots but this will not kill you plant.
