If methane gas was the problem, humans would have been inundated years ago with all the horse and cow shit in the streets, fields, and any where they went. I believe that was debunked a few years back. Where I'm originally from, the summers are more topical or Florida like then Mid Atlantic. And they set records every year now on temperature rise. Even the winters are as long. when I was a kid, you could ice skate from Thanksgiving to at least Valentine's day or later. Now, they are lucky to get ice long enough to skate on. That indicates a warming trend. Even the mini-ice age of the late 17th and 18th centuries was a fluke due to more volcanism then today.

Below is from the National Weather Service. Forty-eight years since its been this cool in the Pacific Northwest.
