You specifically stated that the raids are the result of "reefer mad pols who will not differentiate herb from say, meth or crack".

i swear the day any cop kicks my door in and shoots my dog is gonna get shot as well. i mean why kill an innocent animal for trying to protect its family? that really bothers me.

okay, I can see how someone could conclude that, but that wasn't my intention. personally I really couldn't care what a person does in the privacy of their own home between consenting adults and no I don't think we should ever see this types of raids for any family home.

the main point I was trying to make is that I can understand the officers' point of view, too, wanting to stay safe and all, especially after reading your comments and knowing your story. but anyways crazy shit, and yes, as was just said, seeing your family dogs get gunned down in front of your kids would sure upset me, too.

If I'm performing a search and get attacked by a dog, sorry, but the dog is going to be the one to get hurt- not me if I have anything to say about it.

Nowadays everyone gets treated like an Al Capone and that's just bullshit. Most of the current mindset is directly attributable to the bigoted prohibitionist crap depicting the average drug user as some kind of monster.

Yeah, I do disagree. I hear similar comments to yours from the boozers and tobacco smokers damn near every day.

yeah, I agree. from what I've read this was totally f'd up before they ever even arrived at the scene. i think the search warrent was two months old, etc.

I wonder if this was this city, county or state police in this raid? anyone know? Columbia has more relaxed cannabis laws that the rest of Missouri but they are, one would assume, still subject to State law enforcement. Could be interesting to see how all this plays out in the court of public opinion.[align=center]:s4:

If we're talking about one's health both psychological and physical; most definitely.

well, from what I understand from my years of studies at the History Channel Univ. our founding fathers had a deep respect for hemp and its flowering cousin, cannabis. They all grew it. Jefferson had an extensive collection of seeds from all over the world.

I don't think it's so simple as just profit motive and tobacco being the golden ticket. Let's face it, we could have just as easily made a lot of money off of opium products as a replacement for alcoholic beverages within the alkie/junkie community. So much of it boils down to just plain bigorty. After all, arent all those other drugs for poor folks and people of color and squinty eyes???

Although... you really do have to give the tobacco growers credit for coming up with one of the most insidious drugs out there and a delivery system guaranteed to insure medical casualties for decades to come!
