Yesterday in Southern California two men were killed and one severely wounded at two cannabis collectives in the LA area. This violence coming at a time when LA district attorney Steve Cooley has called for the collectives in LA County to close siting them as allegedly being in violation of the law.

During the weeks that they have enacted this attack on the collectives, several have been robbed. When the employees, patients or witnesses call LA law enforcement for help they are being told "You aren't supposed to be open anyway.", refusing to protect and serve the community as is their oath. This has enacted a "wild west" kind of attitude amongst criminals. Offensively enough, Cooley has the audacity to say the collectives draw crime, when it is him creating the sudden increase in crime. Steve Cooley is clearly using this and peoples lives to run a personal resume to run for attorney general and call himself tough on crime.

Literally all of this added "crime" is a bi-product of the upheaval being created by them going completely against the laws we vote in. All of those thousands of patients are scrambling to find a new collective. The business neighbors are upset from their parking being taken, to littering and basic things being created by a lack of facilities necessary to properly care for those patients. All this little stuff is fixable, but lives cannot be brought back and we don't care if the DA gets a better job.

How many will suffer, how many will die in this ridiculous abuse of power and our constitutional rights? How many will we tolerate before we stand stronger and say no more!?

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of our community budtenders and hero activists. "Mathew Butcher, Mateo" and the people of Hollywood Holistic 2 we love you and appreciate the sacrifices you and your loved ones have given to this movement and its war.

VERY cogent post medmike. Steve Cooley has only himself to blame for rising crime rates. But I'll tell you, you're talking to a wall when you try enlighten prohibitionists like Cooley.

He is banking on the fact that there are a lot of ignorant folks out there who- through YEARS of listening to prohibitionist propaganda, totally buy in to his crap.

And until America wakes up, the ill and infirm will continue to be persecuted for utilizing one of the most effective meds as it relates to addressing the consequences of their various ailments.

Why the dogs man, I love my dogs and treat them like my children. That sickened me. But those cops were lucky. Down here in Texas many of us own large caliber weapons, myself included, and if some strange people are being loud and breaking down a door, its enough alarm to grab that weapon. Some swat members I hear are running in unmarked. I understand that these 'LACKYS" for loss of a better term, are just doing their jobs but you would think they wouldn't be so dumb about it. And yes this fake war on drugs seem to be focused more on pot, something I believe to not be harmful, and not enough on the real drugs and crime. LEGALIZE REGULATE EDUCATE MEDICATE!
