I work in a huge lot with tons and tons and tons of HID lights in reflective boxs..from the boxs theres a cord that seems to plug into something or maybe not can't really tell its high up on a crane tower..So hears the question is it possible to cut the wire and rig something up with out being a master electician? If so I'd be in light heaven

Wiring HID light?
Should be easy. On most ballasts you have numerous wires coming off labled 120,208,220,440. From a HEAVY DUTY electrical cord rewire inside the fixture white to white...green to case...and the black to whatever electrical voltage you use...probably 120v. Make sure you match your household voltage correctly to the proper labled wire...don't need to burn down the house or burn out a perfectly good ballast!

Wiring HID light?
No!
If you have the access you claim to have then you need the whole light. From that you can make a remote ballast and use the mogg socket to hold the light. Everything goes through the ballast either 120v in or 220v in and the output to the light requires capacitors for Mh and capacitors and an igniter for a HPS. They both require 277v ac to light up. You will need two heavy-duty cords one for the power in and one from the transformer to the light socket.
That is what Psycho was saying.

i think your best bet is sell off the lights to someone who can make ballasts and then buy lights lol, or do a deal with someone that makes ballasts, supply them lights if they supply you ballasts.
