Change Schedule One

Now that we are into the 21st Century, I think its time that our elected officials realized one simple fact, beer is a Schedule One drug. It has no known medical use, and has a high potential for abuse. The problems beer consumption cause with DUI, domestic violence, and other acts of violence and stupidity are a danger to our society, and its clear that beer needs to be rescheduled.

I know this will be a big problem for the major breweries and now small micros, but even with their arguments and TV propaganda to drink responsibly, males especially are enticed to binge drinking through the use of sexy females giving the sirens call. This sets a bad example for our children and this scourge of beer consumption needs to be snuffed out.

Write, call or e-mail your members of congress and express your demands that beer be rescheduled to Schedule One status.

Ah, but yes beer DOES have medical efficacy for many!

Seems to me, at the minimum, we need to take away all drugs from the Schedule I category and make them all II's or lower.

Frankly, we should probably do away with that whole Schedule and throw it in the trash bin along with the whole of prohibitionist policy! The Schedule is archaic, ill conceived, and counterproductive in the first place.

But it sure is handy to have around when you want to terrorize and persecute your own general population!
