Tell me about thrips in hydroponics

If plants are infested with thrips from day one what is the life cycle. Nothing has worked to eliminate them. Waiting for Monterey. Plants are in veg, very yellow and dark green, sickly. WHat do thrips actually do? Do they chew roots?

They chew little holes in the leaves like spidermites. Soon you will be able to see lots of little holes if you hold a leaf up to the light. Or the leaves will look speckled with dots.

One or two shots with a pyrithum bomb will take care of them for good. even if you just use a pyrithum spray you can knock them out. Thrips are pretty easy compared to spidermites.

Azamax is neem oil concentrate that is cheap and will take care of them in one spray most likely. General hydroponics puts it out and should be in all hydro shops.
