These were seedlings so there wasn't any rooting gel.

If I pull away the bit that they are growing on there is no attachment to the plant.

If it is a fungus what do you recommend to treat it?

If it's a fungi bacteria or viral, then I would use Pyhsan20. Great stuff.
It can take care of it without harming the plants. Very easy and good to clean up the whole grow room and equipment.
