Strange extrusions
I'm using Rapid Rooters for the first time (I like them so far).
I have however come across a weird 'growth' at the base of the seedlings. I quoted growth, 'cause I can't tell if it's biological or mineral.
They are little green spots that seemingly grow out from the rapid rooter.
My guess is that they are salts from the nutirents that are collecting like stalagmites at the point of evaporation. The seedling has shown no signs of stress and appears to be healthy.
Have you guys seen anything like this? sorry the picture sux but they are pretty small.
There have been a few that I've pinched away from the rapid rooter but they have come back.

If you used a rooting gel on the clones then it very well could be that the gel went higher up the stem than what was inserted into the RR, if I am right then the "growth" would be the reaction of the rooting compound with the plant and what you see is the reaction trying to form roots. If mine were not already past this I could take a pic for ya but we are beyond that.

Thanks for the reply.
These were seedlings so there wasn't any rooting gel.
If I pull away the bit that they are growing on there is no attachment to the plant.
If it is a fungus what do you recommend to treat it?
