How odd--didn't the city of Breckenridge basically de-criminalize marijuana? BTW--it is unconstitutional to allow existing ones to remain--while outlawing new ones. If I had an existing grow in Summit county--it's time to start sweating it out.

That's certain to be challenged in court.

...to sell you stuph, and then back-date the invoices for before-the-great-fiat-outlawery.

Firkin' politicians. We need some more Statesmen.

This recent ban does not apply to Breckenridge or any other towns in Summit County.

Do you have a link to the article?

EDIT: just found article here: Summit County denies request for pot grow ops, troubling dispensaries | SummitDaily.com

OP, might want to consider adding the word, "commercial" before grow op in your title. The commission voted to continue the moratorium on new COMMERCIALLY ZONED warehouse style grows.

I knew this was going to happen. Bill 1284 states that counties/cities can ban "dispensories"---yet requires that the dispensories grow 70% of the meds. And here we have our first county--that is trying to usurp 1284--while disecting it to read--to ban grow operations--while keeping the dispensories---

    What a can of worms.

No. In this state, municipalities have separate laws from counties. Summit County's ban will only affect the unincorporated areas of the county. This still stinks for dispensaries because real estate in towns is expensive and they would rather grow in the less expensive rural areas.

That's just it--these small towns normally aka (city limits) normally consist of a 4 or 5 block area--and then you get into the unincorporated areas.

In Breckenridge this area is full of tourist and anything and everything to do with skiing, restaurants, and tourism in general. Where is the dispensory going to grow there?

So that's turned into a real mess.

OostMOist of the dispensaries in summit charge too much anyway, and have been lowballing the local growers. We don't need any warehouses pumping out beasters up here. Mountain people like homegrown. Let the local growers supply the locals, we don't want warehouse schwag, leave that for the front rangers.
