OK, as a patient I have two questions for all you pros.

One, what is the best way to store a zip and a half of mixed grams (for like 6 months)? Airtight containers under the bed, in the fridge, or in the freezer?

I've found so many different options on the net, what have you found that works best in the CO climate?


Two, my dispensary (where I got my mmj doc's ref and signed away my caregiver status to some unknown grower affiliated with the shop) is going down.

I submitted my paperwork in late March. I prob won't see my card for another 6 months.

Should I sit tight or try remove this caregiver through the CDPHE?

This caregiver prob has tons of patients at the moment and now will have to downsize to five patients (right?).

I'm confused.

Any advice would help, I have young children at home and just want to be legit as a patient.:jointsmile:

I store mine glass jars and that seems to work fine. You can change your caregiver anytime you want. Thats why going around to all the dispensaries and getting deals is so cool. You don't have to notify anyone. I don't think that has changed but I'm sure you'll get many different answers on both questions.

maybe you're unaware, but that's a real dick thing to do.......

please notify your caregiver in writing to let them know you are moving on to greener pastures, if you should so choose.

Noted... but I think the dispensary did wrong by her too. And to tell you truth I really don't care if dispensaries are not notified.

As a caregiver myself, I would appreciate it if a patient notified me they changed caregivers. It will keep me out of jail! Legal plant count is tied to patient count.

On the other hand, the dispensary you went through is closing. Is this dispensary listed on your paperwork/license as your caregiver? If so, and you know for fact they are going out of business, change your caregiver if you want.

I would look at your paperwork/license and see who the dispensary listed as your caregiver. Your paperwork will have your caregiver's address info. Just write them and tell them you are changing caregivers. It's your right. You're are not "stuck" with whomever the dispensary assigned you to.

In this case we were talking about dispensaries not the more personal caregiver/patient deal. Even as far as dispensaries go until July it doesn't effect them if people change.

But your right they should notify the caregivers.

I'd notify your caregiver and submit a change form to the CDPHE, your card will most likely have that caregivers name on it till you renew, but you will be listed on the reg as yourself and no caregiver if you submit a change form.

To your first question: the enemies of properly stored MMJ are light and air. Store in a dark place and use whatever method you see fit (vacuum sealing, airtight jars) to keep air out.

Yea, the caregiver is not the dispensary or its owner. I'm assuming he's just a regular grower that teamed up with the disp.

I found this on the CPHDE website:

"When there has been a change in the name, address, physician, or primary caregiver of a patient who has qualified for a registry identification card, that patient must notify the registry of any such change within ten days."

and

"It is up to the patient to notify a person that the patient has removed them as a care-giver. The Registry does not send any notice to the care-giver."

So it seems clear cut. (Smiles, I couldn't find the 30 day advance rule)

I just send a letter to my caregiver's listed address and then within 10 days fill out the 'Change of Address or Caregiver Form' and check 'none' for caregiver and have it notarized :cursing: and sent it in to the CPHDE?

I also seem to remember that I signed a paper at the disp stating that I would notify them also if I changed caregivers. Since they are closing does this really matter?

This is gonna sound like a stupid question, but will the air inside my airtight containers degrade the mmj? I was not planning on using any kind of vacuum jars.
