    Grow room help asap

Hi all now I have a few questions that need anwsers.
I have built a grow room in my cellar 2m x 1.5m iv put up 2 fake walls and fitted a door the room is 7ft high and I have painted the lot white. It's a first time grow and I'm tryin white widow x big bud I have 8 plants that didn't get the best start in life with over watering and lots of stress ,the soil I used to start of didn't drain at all so I repotted into a mix that was lots better they are now in ten litre pots I know that's massive for a plant that's only 16 days old but then need to get out the other pots.
1.I have set a fan to come on every 2.5 hrs for half an hour is this enough
2.I have a fan heater that comes on every 2.5hrs also for half hr is this enough
    3.I have x2 85w cfl's and x2 45w cfl's 6400k one of each over 4 pots about 8-10 inches away do I need more?

Beacause I have a window in the cellar I have had to seal every lil gap with sealant in order to make it light tight for when I switch to flower and I have no fresh air gettin to the room as of yet but I'm gonna put ducting straight from the airvent and lead it to the bottom of the grow roo

4.I have make a mix of yeast and sugar in to a 2litre bottle and that sits behind my fan will this be ok in a sealed room or shall I get rid?
5.I have been collecting rain water do I need to ph it befor I give it to the plants and how long can I keep it in bottles in a dark place?

The rooms temp goes up and down through out the day 26degrees c max and 21 low
the cfl's are on 24/7 at the mo
I have a 5" carbon filter and fan for when it starts to smell and a 600w hps for flower.I have brought bio bizz nutes to use if I get that far but like I said they got of to a bad start and there 2 leaves have folded and curled new growth looks ok so far and all is still green just out of shape. They have only been in this new room for 3 days but growth has come to a holt could they just be finding there roots or is it somthing serious
    ph of soil is 6.8
    6. Can I use lemon juice to bring ph down ?
Sorry for all the questions but needs must.
all the gear no idear comes to mind.

Just an idear but it I get to the flowering stage could I put cfl's on the floor while I have my 600w hps on top though it might give the under growth some light or would it do more harm than good?

    Hey Big,
It's great that you are really into this and that's what it takes to grow good weed yerself....But one thing to keep in mind is that it is a very resilient plant. The fans going on and off I'm not sure how much that would matter.....Mine come on with the lights and then go on with the lights. (Except my intake fan that stays on always.)
As far as the lighting goes whenever dealing with cfl's ....the more the better....As long as leaves aren't dying and turning yellow from lack of light then you are fine.
The yeast and sugar....Im assuming it's producing co2....If it's helping then keep doing it.
Rain water is a good Idea (not from a drain spout) it's just hard to keep on hand and hard to collect, I just get distilled water from the grocery store when we go.....You should only water every few days....So I just buy 3gal or 4gal when I need to.
As far as the PH tester i got one.....Its works. But Ive never really had a problem with ph. But i know that 6.8 is good....Lemon Juice? Google it....

Light up the 600w and keep the cfl's on it, the more light the better. I don't know about your electric, but a 600w would only cost me $20 USD per month.

You can get a lot closer with those cfls if you keep a fan blowing over the top of the plants to keep them cool, I wouldn't go any closer than 20 cm with the 600w though. Use your cfls as supplemental lighting on the sides of your growroom when your plants get bigger so they get light all around, I think this would be more effective than putting lights on the floor.

If you can, put your plants outside for a couple hours of sunlight whenever possible, you'll notice a difference in growth between direct sunlight and artificial lighting. You're fine with just the cfls but like I said, once you see the difference in growth rates, you'll want as much light on them as you can get.

Also, your plants will droop a little after you water them, and seedlings are easily damaged. Bagseed is best to start with, SWIM killed half his plants on his first grow.

Are you using nutrients? Plants use up the nutes in potting soil at most in 3 weeks, unless you mixed in some time-release nutes. Whatever you do, start at 1/4 strength with nutes. That's all I can think of for now...

The sooner the better, because lets face it you cant live without air so dont expect your plants to:hippy:

...if you're keeping 'em in dirt (or a dirt-like substance), then an ingoing Ph of 6 to 6.2 or 6.3 is fine.

If you're doing any kinda hydro, 5.7 is what to shoot for, tho 5.5 to 6 will be fine.

If you can check your runoff, ideally, it, too, should be what is going in. That means that the general Ph of your medium is what makes the plant most happy, and most nute-uptake-y.

And YEAH, git mo' light on dem bee-yotches! Just make sure the temp doesn't rise above 28-29c max, and a 'night' temp of 17-23c.

As far as Ph Down goes, while in seedlingland, maybe you can get away with the lemon juice or vinegar for a bit, but get yourself the smallest, most inexpensive bottle of 85% Phosphoric Acid as a Ph Down, and try not to use a Ph up unless your natural water calls for it. Some say that the use of vinegar promotes the wrong type of soil beasties, but the jury is still out on that one.

Do NOT use Baking Soda as a Ph 'up'. Old school advice.

Also, use either R/O or Distilled water at first, working up to carbon filtered water if you need it, or R/O all the way if it's not too expensive. Not necessary if your base PPM of tapwater is less than 200 or 300, iirc.

More Lumens are Not a Bad Thing (tm).

Yeah I am in soil but I don't see how it drops by 1ph as it goes throu.
My temp is 26c day and drop to 23c I'm gonna sort my ducting out 2night straight from the air vent in to the grow room and lead it to the back of my fan so they will have all the fresh air they need
    thanks for the reply
