Well the quality of the picture is only good enough to show the female I see. If you are getting 'nanners too, then you have a hermie. What I see, in that picture, is a damn nice looking indica about 3-4 weeks into flower?

EDIT You have a hermie. I opened your pic in another program and yep, you have a hermie. Say "Hi" to AC/DC

thank you for the compliments! you are good, it is indeed 3.5 weeks into flower!

so, I got a hermie plant... wow, I wasn't even aware that there was such a thing... I've always thought was either male or female... so what to do now? is a hermie still smokable? what are hermies good for?
    thanks for the reply

Well, when those little pods open, they will pollenate the female part of the plant. Once that occurs, the plant will concentrate on ripening the seeds and have much less attention for producing trichomes.

So, you can work your butt off and pick off all the male pods, or trash it, not much good for more than cannabutter

there aren't that many male pods (the little balls) on the plant, so I wouldn't mind picking it off but would that cause my plant to stress or even die?

No but miss just one.........it is a PIA. If it is the only plant you have, pick the pods, it will not stress the plant. You will probably miss some, I would err on the side of early harvest if you see seeds.

If you have other plants, kill the sob and chalk it up to experience/education.

tough choice... I had 3 but one died from an unknown cause and the other one is definitely a male so I only have this shemale left

I'm not an expert grower but if i was in your position I would try and pick of all the pollen sacks and hope for the best and like WashougalWonder said if you see seeds then harvest it as soon as you can so you'll get at least some good bud off it.

Harvesting early with hermies in my experience is a double edged sword. Depending on the amount of seeds developing, early harvest may put you at a point where the seeds are just started. They'll be rather small white solid chunks of premature seed which are next to impossible to separate from the weed when you smoke it.

If i had my "hermie do-over", and it was my only potential harvest, I would let it fully mature. It's much easier to pick full grown seeds out than lil premy ones. Besides, who on here has never picked seeds out of some smoke. There is no evidence to show that bud from a seeded plant is any less potent than sensimilla. You may lose some potential yield, but something will be better than nothing.

Also, you could use the experience taking one to maturation. If I were you, I would throttle up full speed ahead and see what happens.

Next time start with a known genetic and it will take out the "hermie" variable. Unless of course you stress it to go hermie. That's another conversation for another day.
