THContent, I misjudged you and I apologize. I see now where you are coming from and as it turns out we are no so far apart. I am really not an atheist, nor am I a believer. I do believe there is a force creating order out of chaos as I stated in other threads. Einstein's vision of god is actually pretty similar to mine. To yours as well it seems.

Albert Einstein is on record as saying that he did not believe in a personal God. They keyword is personal. Einstein did not believe that god knows or cares about you on a personal level, that he hears your prayers or interferes in anyway in response to prayers. Instead, he believed that there was a God that maintained and created the harmony of the universe.

I find no deep truth in any current, or past "religion".

And petitioning the "lord" with prayer, borders on insanity.

Our whole concept of addressable "gods" is a human fantasy.
(It's just not that kine sing.)

How arrogant to think that we are the end result of evolution.

I feel we are one very small step, very early on, and as such could not comprehend "the plan" if it was spoon-fed to us.

I strongly oppose religion because it is man-made/written twisted reasoning that is used to control people. Using the un-comprehensible force to scare the shit out of people to get them to do the things desired within their beliefs.

Religion in my book is the furthest thing from God and the truth, talk about ironic.

The truth is that most free thinking adults have likely done some seeking.

At this point, if a proof about God can't be reduced to something very short, then it is worthless - no offense intended (really).

Further, the Bible (and I could ramble about this at length) is no better a source than the Iliad for constructing metaphysical views. Worse, for unlike the Iliad, or any number of things, the Bible went through the Constantine years.

But I said I wouldn't ramble about it, and I won't.

There is no proof that God must exist, simple as that.

If it makes you happy though, and makes you be a better person, then more power to you, really.
