Man its going to be on how humid it is. If it stays dry the bits will heal up fine, but the moisture will give ya rot. It it is humid there iv heard some baking soda with water in a spry bottle will keep the rot at bay. Also maybe something around the pots like duck tape or steel wool will keep them from getting in the pots will help.
