Well most commonly, people die taking acetominophen (Tylenol) in combination with booze because of all of the stress that specific combination puts on your liver. Any painkillers mixed with alcohol aren't good for you, including opiate painkillers due to the respiritory depression it causes. As for the OTC painkillers, you would have to take a pretty decent amount to actually die, but combining them with alcohol definatly increases the chances of that happening.
