How much is too much?
Hey guys,
I hate to drop by a forum and make a first post asking questions, but hey, such is life. I'm for sure interested in this November marijuana vote and legalization, so hopefully I'll stick around and become cozy now that I have an account. So hi.
Anyway, the thing bringing me here.
I just took a pre-employment drug test today, urine test. I used to smoke a lot, but I stopped smoking over 6 months ago (I was worried it would be a hair test... what a shame). So, basically, I am 100% clean, my piss is 100% clean, I know for a fact that I will pass.
The thing is, I know a test can fail for being too dilute. I took the test at 3pm. I woke up at 12:30pm (Hey, I'm not working yet!). I want to make sure I didn't drink too much water to dilute the sample too much. Between waking up and taking the test, I drank 3 bottles (16oz) of bottled water.
The first was right between waking up and showering (1pm). The second was about an hour later (2pm). And the third was right before driving to the center, to make sure I had to pee (230pm... I know, overkill, but I can be a nervous pee-er).
So, is there ANY chance that drinking these three bottles of water in the 2 hours before the test will cause my sample to be too dilute.
The sample was very clear - a slight yellow tint, but definitely on the clear side of things. I shouldn't have drank any water at all, because I know I am clean and shouldn't have risked it, but I drink a lot of water normally and I wasn't thinking straight.
So, once again, is there any chance I drank too much water? How much water would be too much to drink in the 2 hours before the test, just for reference? What would cause a dilution failure?
And, to give you guys a smile as a thanks for answering - the reason I am asking this is I want to smoke a fat bowl tonight. Yummy. But I want to make sure nothing can possibly go wrong first

How much is too much?
I have passed piss tests when my urine was see through, if your ph and creatinine levels were okay then you'll be fine. Unfortunately it's between you, God and the lab to know what your metabolic rates are like, no one here can tell you.
The one thing I would like to do though is say that you should NOT be smoking again until they tell you your results. Tons of people get false positives and tons of people test dilute. Tons of people need to therefor be retested, and most of these people won't pass if they smoke again in between.

how did it go, dilute or not? A lot may depend on body type.
I am 6'2 165 lbs and I recently got a dilute after only drinking appromixately 30-40 oz of liquid and urinating 3 times total before my 2 pm UA. I was shocked to hear my creatinine levels were too low because I thought I definitely limited my liquid enough.

Please tell me if you passed. I am in the same situation. I drank too much water and got an inconclusive result on the first lab test...when I had 9 days clean. I tested negative with a home test on the morning of the 2nd test, had 26 days clean. My test was at 11am and I drank 2 cups of coffee and a small thing of water in the waiting room. I had pissed probably 3 times before the test....nothing I wouldn't had drank or done on a normal "non testing" day! I was feeling really positive about it, Now I am starting to stress that it will come back as another dilute result
