currently plan on grown 7 plants hopefully. this should give me room to spair and more then enough room for feauter grows. i was wondering what light would be a good choice for the plant amount and the space of the tent.
also was wodering if i can get way with useing this same light thoughout the whole growth cycle-seedlings-veg-and nuggs.

400W-600W HPS should do good for you, to save money, use my home made cool tube method, you will not require a ballast, total for everything should be $70. Read my sig.
All the additional things you will most likely need to grow in a tent is ducting, and an inline fan.

A 600 watt HPS/MH would perform well with those specs. I don't know about not requiring a ballast  but a digital ballast works well and keeps the temps down a little bit more if you have to keep it inside the tent. I have about the same measurments you have and do pretty good with my 2 400 watt hps cooled with a 6 inch. 600's would've been peerrffecctt for me.
If you can shell out the extra money and say the hell with it and get a 1000 but you'd need a nice fan to cool that down. Its less hassle with just a big light lighting everything you never have to move it or adjust it.

...would be to go with a nice big digital ballast, and a single thousand watt MH* for the veg, switching to a single thousand watt HPS* for the flower. If one wanted to be very non-bulb-switchy, one could buy a (kinda expensive) dual-arc bulb and get 600w HPS and 400w MH in the same bulb. Just move the hot air out.
Two 600w would be very good to fill the space, as well, and you could get a little closer to the plants. A single 600 would work, if you kept it close, and light-moved it or rotated and LST/SCRoG'ged yer plants.
If possible, try to keep yer plants under 10,000 lumens / square foot.
Just my :twocents:

* HPS=High Pressure Sodium, MH=Metal Halide. Make sure your ballast can 'strike' the bulb of your choice, and keep the heat (and/or bugz!) offAnd never, ever, ever touch 'em with your bare skin, as the oils in your skin will contribute to early breakdown of the bulb.

Thereā??s no way a 400w has enough coverage to do a space that big.
For that space u will need a 1000w at least.
A 400w will only cover about 3X3, 600w covers 3.5-4X3.5-4, and a 1000w covers 5X5. Not only would the 400w not cover the entire grow area, it also wouldn't have enough lumens to penetrate a thick canopy. So I would suggest a 1000w or 2 600w.

I just deleted some shit from here that I WAS NOT impressed with at all. The next time I see a fountain of misinformation that could cause harm I'll resolve the matter with a perm ban!!
Have a good grow!
