What good is our WA MM permit anyways. Geez!

I felt real good the last few weeks about my well deserved MM permit and feeling much better then on meds. Feel great and can function.

However a friend told me our permits here in WA are not worth the paper they are written on in regards to getting Meds or preventing arrest. He said the only thing they do is give us a fighting chance in court.

I did not believe him so I did some research.

    He is right!

I found that the places we get our Meds at are operating illiegally and could all be shut down in a moments notice and many are being shut down. Unlike CALI and other states where they are legal caregivers.

We can possess an amount of Meds but we can not buy it. So how do you get it if you do not buy it. So I guess the DONATE word helps. However still very grey area.

So this is bunk. We get a bogus paper that will maybe reduce or get our possession ticket if we get one thrown out. However we if they shut all the dispensieries down like they did in Snohomish county. (Marysville to be exact) for being illiegal. Where do we go?

That said, Bless those folks providing care. They are at risk from what I read.
We are no where near CA, Hawaii or OR in our MED M laws.

You can grow, and you can possess. You just cannot legally transfer. If you're charged under state law, you mmj auth gives you the right not to be found guilty under the state provided you have complied with all the requirements. Theoretically mmj auth should also shield you from having your plants or dried matter confiscated, but the way the law is written that is only if the LEO finds you to have a valid authorization...

Friend, you are listening to all the fearful morons who can't read the law enough to see that it DOESN'T allow dispensaries...

Let me tell you FIRST HAND.....

I've had an authorization for years. Several years ago, my wife and I bought a house. The woman who sold it to us was a spiteful C@$#... She called the police on my ganja, because I caught her breaking into my barn. (Long story...)

Westnet showed up at my house @6AM ready to kick my door in. I politely opened it and told them that I was a medical patient and what was really going on. Since they already had a warrant, they handcuffed me and questioned me in my living room, while they "verified" my information.

They found 9 plants, just where I said they would be, and they found my note where it was posted.

They then TOOK OFF THE CUFFS, APOLOGIZED, and LEFT... No charges, no theft of property, no drama...

The moral of this story is that if you are using MMJ in an ethical way, and your setup indicates that, THEY WILL NOT F@#$ with you....

However, if you are using MMJ to justify providing cannabis to others, you can expect to be hassled....

These fine upstanding "helpers" of the community just like to b@#%ch and moan, and play the sympathy card when they get busted... They want us all the believe that they unfairly persecuted just for being patients....

The truth is that it's karma's way of biting them in the @$$ for trying to profit off of sick people... Are we REALLY supposed to believe that these people operate solely out of the goodness of their heart? If so, I have an ocean front dispensary in Arizona for sale.....

I guess I could care less what reason the dispenserie owners are operating under. I just want to be able to not have to grow as my only MM means.

In Cali they have there heads on straight. The dispenseries are legal under state and county law. I understand not Federal. However most are left alone.

Here the like you and my friend said are ILLIEGAL. So we are I guess supposed to buy seeds (also illiegal) and grow our own>?

Why even have the law here if its so bogus.

    Just my vent.

Vent away, better than NO MMJ law. Quit being lazy and fricking grow.

This pisses me off. Whine because you are too fricking lazy to grow. I can understand you just got your authorization and will need meds to get you to your first harvest. I can understand that the dispensaries are out in the dark grey area. I understand you cannot legally buy it or transfer it.

I betcha you been buying off the street for quite awhile.

You don't like the law, work to make it better....have you signed 1068?

I would believe, from my old fart perspective, if folks are selling it, they are selling mostly to people without authorization. Lets face it, the medical users are by far a minority in the ganja world.

EDIT: I am sorry if this sounds harsh. That is not my intent, please just grasp the content, don't feel so good with this latest storm.

    Dear weez,

Weez we are working on this very issue in court. And as an attorney, you know the system don't move fast. Have patients. It is coming, just not as fast as we would all like.

Good to see people educating themselves on the issue. And you are correct. MMJ is NOT legal in Washington. It only allows you an affirmative defense(maybe) if you get dragged into court. So read up on the actual laws, try to conform to them as much as possible and prepare yourself if you end up being a target of the door kicking thugs. If you're lucky they'll just kick your door in ,shoot your dog and terrify your family. If you're unlucky? You'll be another statistic of the drug war.

Your so spot on:thumbsup: Its totally bogus here in WA. They threw us a bone with the bogus law, now I am supposed to be a grower:wtf:

I have kids and have no intention of growing more then 1 plant. Wife is not even happy about one. . And no I NEVER bought on the street! I was a street buyer 25 years ago in college. By the way that was how long ago I smoked till now

I thought I had done my research better when I got the MMPermit 2 weeks ago. I took it that we had LEGAL collectives like CA and OR. I did not know I put myself and family at risk when I walked out with lots of different grams of meds so casually to my car. In fact I had them right out on my seat thinking I was full legal. Wow it would have been fun to be pulled over

I will still go to the collectives. Its obvios in Seattle and Shorline the police are not doing anything about them. (good for you local PD depts). However I hope the Feds dont rush the door while I am there.

For as liberal as Seattle is. We are not as modern as we think.

    Thanks for everyones input.

Hope they leave the collectives alone.

You might send some feelers out for a caretaker to grow your meds. It will be a lot cheaper and its perfectly legal. It can be difficult though to find one following the guidelines so use caution.
