Does this look odd to anyone?

Just in the past couple days, new sets of leaves with only 3 leaves each showed up on every node. The plant looks sort of odd now, are those new stalks coming out? Today is its first day in flowering, I think it's going to turn out pretty bushy.

mate they will tern out alright, have u turned the light back to 12/12 yet. They look a bit thin to me. try trimming the centr nodes out of the plant so it grows into two branches and stays small and bushy remember the more branches the more buds! peace man, think u started budding them a bit early, hope there all females.

I just set them to 12/12 yesterday. I believe the reason it's so thin and already appears to be in flowering stage is because I've only had a 200 watt floro on it so far. Since I cannot buy my HPS system quite yet, I've added a second 200 watt floro in hopes that it will help.

Trimming the center node is called 'cloning', right? Am I supposed to just cut the plant in half just under a node and re-plant the cutting and watch it grow or is there more to it? Do I need to buy some nutrient or protectant to coat the cutting with?

would it be OK to switch over to a 400w HPS halfway into flowering? I'm using the floro's now but should have my HPS within 3-4 weeks

Hey Doc, Your well on your way. Don't sweat the three leave deal, you will notice that all your flowers will have 3 pronged leaves. I definitely think that the HID as soon as possible is a good idea. Anytime you change the enviroment though such as one type of light to another, transplanting, etc. I like to use Thrive Alive with vitamin B1. Really helps the girls through stress. The sooner the better on the HPS. As far as when to start flowering, each strain is different as to its veg heighth to flower heighth ratio. Most start there plants on the 12/12 when veg has reached 6 to 18 inches. I ussually shoot right down the middle at 12 and end up with plants 2 1/2 to 3 ft tall. Short plants use light more efficiently. I also like to trim the bottom third of the plants nodes to force growth toward the top where the light is. With good light you can generally get 1 1/2 oz easy.
