How do you typically get hit by spider mites?

Since its my first hydro grow just trying to avoid getting them any way I can.
My setup is in spare bedroom with a grow tent and no open windows. These mites sound like a bitch to control once you get them.

What are the best things to do to avoid getting them?

    Appreciate any ideas

To get rid of spidermites you must break the life cycle.

    Nothing kills the EGGS.

A spidermite is born pregnant and can lay eggs in 14 days from being hatched.
Eggs hatch in 5 to 7 days.

Pyrithum bombs, Neem oils or azamax a concentrate of neem oils are the best.

Treatment must be made every 7 days for 4 treatments to break the life cycle. Some eggs can winter over in soil conditions.

Two sotted spidermites are the worst. More than just 4 treatments are needed most times. Keeping a clean work place has a lot to do with it also.

Most times you don't bring this on yourself as my case. My bro and his clones have been the only place I every got mites or thrips and I will not pass them on.

Azamax is the only one that can be used systemic as an antifeedant but you still need to spray to kill the eggs as they hatch.

Thanks for the info, appreciate it. I continue to keep things clean and I have neem oil if the little bugs show up. Good to hear they typically get transported in.

most infestations come from people who go into your grow room...and they do not take the proper precautions...IE...not taking your shoes off. Going into a room with dirty clothes on. Not washing your hands or wearing gloves...etc.

And, in my case...becuase I had to use a wall mounted AC...instead of an indoor A/C. It blew the little fuckers into my room. Something for me to fix.

    Know your variables.

Picture #1 was the day I found the spider mite infestation...I figured a nice close-up will show how much damage these little bastards can cause. Looks like I have gotten rid of them for the most-part.

Pictures #2 is of the room...I am running (6) 2x4 trays. 8 plants per tray on this run.

picture #3 is an upclose of the crowns that are developing

Picture #4 is of the kush...Will start purpling in the next 2 weeks!

SO...I am sure some of you are wondering...Where the hell I have been the last couple months. As of yesterday it looks like I am going to be running a commercial medical grow...Is this like being brought into the majors in Baseball? LMFAO!

I will still update my grows...and include a little bit of data from my new venture. I might show a couple pics of what I am working on too! Wsih me luck:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
