How to Clean your bowl/pipe (PROS)

Hello! i Am the PotDoctor. and as my first post. im going to tell you fellow smokers how to clean your bowl/pipe.

First, i like to call this
"Operation:Clear" - The Intense Bowl Cleaning Regiment.

im not one too good with details so im going to list some steps materials and then describe them

MATERIALS:
Q-tips or toothpicks
Water
Privacy
Window
bowl/pipe
dedication

Starting Off:

1) Run some water into your bowl from the inhaling side and try to get the large pieces of resi out. just shake it up and get all the loose ones out.

2) Run lukewarm water into your sink/tub and close the drain so it starts to fill.. give it about 4 to 5 inches of fill.

3)Submerge the Bowl/pipe into the lukewarm water and let it sit for 15-30 minutes.

4)After the time has passed take your toothpick (or any other skinny/long/object) and start to scrape resi off in the bowl.

you can do this while the bowl is still submerged as well. or you can take it out of the water if its easier.

5) after scraping a significant amount of resi off. rinse the bowl out with water

****PROFESSIONAL****
OPTIONAL) a hard technique is to seal all 3 holes on the bowl.
(put a finger over the mouthpiece and cover the carb while letting a little water run through the chamber. once the water is in. cover the chamber and shake the bowl vigorously. a large amount of resi should exit with the water once you let go of the mouthpiece.

6) begin to enter qtips through the mouthpiece to clean up all the insides.

7)go from the top to try and clean the chamber as well

8) rinse and repeat the steps. (no pun intended) [and dont repeat step 3) just keep rinsing and cleaning till the bowl is clear or until most of the resi is out.

now that your done. your bowl/pipe should hit so much harder and get you. so much High-er.

very cool post, but have yo tried ISO alcohol and Epsom salt? I clean my bong and bowl about 3 or 4 times a weak and it takes about 10 mins each time, I spend d more time drying then cleaning lol.

materials:
Ziploc bag
90% ISO Alcohol
epsonsalt

rinse with warm water for about 15 seconds getting the piece and the resin warm.
let drip dry fro about 5 seconds
then put in zip lock bag add about 3-4 tablespoons of ISO the about 1 table spoon salt.
seal the bag and shake while holding the PIPE IN the bag (hold the pipe in the bag not hold the bag with the pipe in it so you have hands on the pipe at all times)

Works every time and remember to only use distilled water in your bongs because hard eater spots are hard to remove and require chemicals like CLR and allot of rinsing.
Distilled water is very important for Ice Catchers so use distiled in you ice bongs too. distilling is easy no need to pay for water. 2 water jugs and a hose is all you need 2 distill.

I've always cleaned my glass the way PotDoctor describes until someone told me to use alcohol and salt. An alternative to isopropyl alcohol is pure lemon extract.
Never thought of using distilled water! My poor lungs.

Here's two ways not to clean your glass.
1. Rolling boil
2. 2 MRE heaters and an MRE pouch in a windowsill.

How do you guys find color changing pieces to be? Just picked up a new little travel-sized pipe and it clings onto resin quite quickly but hot water cleans it very easily.

All of my pieces are color changing,and yeah the resin can build up quite fast if you let it. I try and find pipes with the holes of a large diameter,it makes them much easier to clean and they smoke better.Alcohol still works fine.I have about 15 pieces in the collection now.:thumbsup: In fact if you can ever get your hands on a piece from chameleon glass they clean out super easy with just warm water out of the tap each and everytime,its quite amazing(I recommend the vortex).

my sherlock has a big gut, i don't really have any choice but to boil.

My upright water pipe has 5 percolators that get clogged easily. Running hot water then using alcohol and salt and shaking the crap out of it works. You could also try a coarser salt if you've used alcohol before and it didn't work.

I use the Alochol and salt remedy as well, except sometimes I use Rice if I dont have salt.
Cascade dish powder is Nice too excpet you have to wear gloves, but I heard.....lol
I heard that the cascade is good to clean your pipes because when you pour the dirty water down the drain,the cascade keeps it from building up or something like that ...Anyone can confirm?
