if he doesn't sign it, OR if he veto's it-it will STILL go into effect because there was so many yes votes that it over rides it.

If he does not sign it, it will go into effect 30 days from the time it hit his desk. If he votes it, it will NOT go into effect. "That is why they call it a veto". It will be sent back down stairs to make changes to it.

Sorry got booted before I could finish. The only chance the caregivers and the patient have is as follows.

Gov vetos the bill "not going to happen"

A lawyer get a injuction from a judge. "almost impossible on a bill that deals with and becomes a state law".

For a lawyer to file a civil action and a judge rules the bill is unconsitional. "about a 50/50 chance". Depends on the judge.

Next step will be to appeal the judges ruling if he states the bill is fine on the face.

Last two steps could take months and even years

I'm not familiar with Colorado law on this issue but I have heard that if he doesn't sign it, it will still become law, it will just be something he can deny responsibility for having a part in. My source said he would have to actually veto it in order for it to die.
