I was in a similar situation in January 09. I was hit by a van while moving my car at work (only 2 hour parking spots by my office). And because I was at work, they considered it part workers comp. I will tell you from my experience, workers comp will run you ragged! So much paperwork and I found it to cause more harm than good financially. I'm still dealing with it!

When I got my medical card, I just went straight through MediCann. My primary care was alot like yours. They just kept saying there was nothing they could do for my back pain and it would just take time. Meanwhile, my dr. prescribed me about 8 different prescriptions for pain, nerves and anxiety (which was from the pills). I am not a pill popper....they just made me feel sick, anxious and depressed! So I took a ziploc bag full of my prescription bottles to my Medicann appt. and walked out with my MMJ recommendation. You don't have to go through your primary care. I just told them that cannabis worked way better for me than the pills. It was pretty easy.

I don't know if Workers comp will cover MMJ, I never tried. I figured it would be a pain in the A## after all the other hoops they had me jump through. I was willing to pay for it out of my pocket....and still feel it was well worth it. Good Luck!
