Note, there is such thing as too much air at the roots. If they get too much air they will dry out at which point they will die back. It's called air pruning.

I'm still way way behind building my new room. I have some blocks of time coming up so I'm hoping to move it forward. I'm going to use your mix when I start. I assume you used a seedling mix to get them started?


I used the FFOF straight for seedlings, worked quite well. Germinated in wet paper towel for a few days. As soon as root sprouted, I planted in soil. The perlite approach is when I water more often as to not allow the roots to dry out.
