Cutting them both down in 3 days, will update when it's time.

Here they are all cut down, and I am still not finished with the second plant yet. I also need to find a scale to get the total weight.

They have been cut down for about 2 days now, and I already notice alot of loss of mass most likely due to water evaporation, but as of right now this is what they look like:

In some of the pics it looks like you have some spider mite damage. Did you ever notice any bugs? Did you notice anything wierd about the leaves like little white spots? Notice anything of the under sides of the leaves?


You should check around and make sure you kill them before you put anymore plants in there. They can be a pain in these ass to contain.

Yeah, I did see a few very small webs after cutting it down that one of the plants had a few mites. I put a hotshot pest strip back in the room towards the end which kept the damage where it was in the pics. Since they did prove to be a nuisance I will be picking up another HotShot pest strip for the next grow.

Also wanted to ask for those who know, is it ok to use the same soil more than once?


I used Jack's Classic nutes.

Used soil is no good in my opinion. You have already used all of the nutrients and all of the PH buffers are likely used up. Considering the fact that you did have insect problems Its just another reason to get new soil.

IMHO if you have enough time and money to have a legitimate grow room and are willing to spend months caring for your crop, you can spare the 15$ to get a new bag of soil.

+1, there will be eggs in the soil, so bugs will return. The nutes are all blown out, and if using salt based added nutes it'll be LOADED with salt. You'd have to rinse the crap out of it then bake it like a cake to kill pests,.... then your left with just plane ol peat. Save yourself the trouble and get a new bag.

As for the bugs keep the room as tidy as possible, and apply neem during vege. I mist my veging plants with neem every couple weeks, and have to access my flowering room THRU my veging room, so any mites that find their way into my room eat neem and die before they find my flowering room! :chainsaw:

Read the MSDS on the "No Pest Strip"! then combine the scary shit you just read with the fact that mites can become resistant to the main ingredient and you'll use it to fog your storage shed for beetles from here out.

P.S. combined with a few other precautions I haven't EVER seen a mite in my rooms. Had em bad upstairs on a couple houseplants (Neem knocked em out after we found em!), but not 1! where it's important.

Awesome news my friends, my Girlfriends sister (the one I "give" the plant aftermath to) says that it is the best sh*t shes ever smoked, and she is a major pothead that has had alot of different varieties of the MJ. She was on the phone with my gf after she smoked, and you could definitely tell she was stoned by her voice, and she kept repeating herself and giggling hahaha. She said the second she saw it that it was of good quality by the smell of it and the hairs+crystals. She wants alot more =D =D So this is good news that makes me proud

In other aspects of this grow I learned that when you start to see leaves randomly turning brown on the tips and white spots on the tops of the leaves, don't assume your pH is off, because chances are it is definitely spider mites. The webs are nearly impossible to spot unless you are really close or have a magnifying glass (or if the outbreak is out of control you will see it) To prevent and avoid this from future grows, I have purchased an 8oz jug type deal of neem oil from Amazon, it should be here soon (within a week) so that will help me in the future if this happens again, I also bought a couple more bags of FFOF ($65.00) shipped (Amazon). To be completely honest they did do alot of damage to the fan leaves near the end, causing all the leaves that collect light to wither and die off. Thank God it was the end otherwise I could have lost that entire plant.

They really are not easy to get rid of by any means, sure the HotShot strip did stop them in their tracks at the end, but by that time the damage had been done.

How well will neem oil help if this outbreak occurs again? And is it true that spider mites can build an immunity to the HotShot strips, can I please see proof.
