will this work.
Speaking from experience, no the grow spotlights are not the best at anything. They'll keep your plants alive, but they won't thrive. The point is, they are far from acceptable long-term.

23w CFL's come in 4 packs at Walmart. It's what many of us use for the growth phase. Some even change the bulbs to the proper spectrum, and flower with 'em too. Added bonus: CFL's actually promote growth, rather than promoting stretch and heat stress.
