Yeah, it's rough. Either you can try to eek-out a sub-par grow with what you have, or get something that works. If you can't afford the HID, I'd go with the CFL's. They actually work. :thumbsup:

I use 23w CFL's from WalMart for the growth phase. I wouldn't go any lower than 23w, but there are higher wattage bulbs available, for a heftier pricetag. For better/more in-depth info, check the other CFL posts in the lighting section and the indoor growing section. :thumbsup:
