denver channel 4 tonight - kids & grows

I hate to ALWAYS have to play devil's advocate in this forum, but growing can be dangerous. In my small town last year, two men died when an illegal grow caught fire. Commercial grows (legal or illegal) shouldn't be in residences. Patients should be able to grow in their own homes, but not those of you with larger commercial grows. Caregivers (five patient and/or 30 plant limit) are a gray area for me, but I would be inclined to allow them to grow at home as well.

Here's another article full of BS:

Marijuana Grow Operations an Increasing Risk, Colorado Officials Say

DENVER -- Colorado Attorney General John Suthers came to AIHce on Tuesday to spread the word about a growing problem faced by emergency responders and law enforcement personnel: marijuana-growing operations.

Speaking at a news conference held at the mock meth lab at the AIHce expo, Suthers thanked the IH community for helping the law enforcement community understand and cope with the hazards found at meth laboratories, such as phosgene and anhydrous ammonia, and he said their expertise is needed to analyze and communicate with the public about marijuana grow operations' hazards.

"Other drug production problems are arising," Suthers said. He said there has been a steep increase statewide in large marijuana growing operations, triggered in part by medical marijuana laws in Colorado. Carbon monoxide and mold are hazards responders face when raiding and cleaning up these operations, he said. "The medical marijuana laws in Colorado suggest that these grow labs will only increase," Suthers said.

An industrial hygienist from National Jewish Health in Denver said Colorado officials first heard about hazards associated with marijuana-growing operations from colleagues in Canada who had experienced them. Now, firefighters in Colorado are increasingly responding to fires caused by makeshift electrical wiring installed for growing operations, he said, and serious mold hazards are encountered because the growers typically place their plants indoors, in confined areas, with high humidity and carbon dioxide levels.

Where are they getting this crap about carbon monoxide? Someone needs to tell these assclowns plants create oxygen.

Notice that all these grows were illegal grows they highlighted. I addressed the bias in this story last night on KOA. Their Propaganda campaign is now going full tilt, with Atty Gen. Suthers comparing Cannabis grows with Meth Labs. If they say it enough it becomes true in the media and with the sheep that take everything they say to be gospel. We need to counter every negative story with 10 positive and we have a plan to do just that.

I'm glad to hear you have a plan in place. I emailed channel 4 and asked them if they needed a positive story about MMJ for their news.

They got this last bill passed that limited so many of our rights. The next step is to stop indoor growing unless it is in a warehouse. That will be the end to 99% of mom and pops and caregivers. There is no way a caregiver can afford to rent a warehouse with a 5 patient limit. There is no way a caregiver can grow outside and take care of his 5 patients unless you are allowed to grow a million plants so you have enough to supple to carry yourself through longer harvest times and the winter.

You sit back and watch the health dept with bs going on will backing of the attorney general will put a stop to indoor growing unless you are in a warehouse setting. They will get it through by saying it is for the safety of kids, neighbors or the stray dog that is walking through the neighborhood.

That is why they are comparing marijuana grows to meth labs, talking about kids in the middle and safety. They will have the backing of the fire depts, police dept, neighborhood groups, kids groups, health dept and the list just goes on and on. Even Mr. Corry the one person that is suppose to be on our side is making comment to the fact of grows should be in warehouses etc. You better bet your sweet ass the money backed Dispencaries will also be backing this.

Thats exactly what they are doing, trying to compare them to meth labs. There was another story in Westword a few months ago after Chris Bartkowicz got raided where a DEA agent was talking about how some growers use CO2 cylinders to grow and how if they exploded they could take out an entire neighborhood. The problem with all this is the media eats this shit up and journalists are simply lazy and will not check facts, they will just print anything that sounds good.

MyCannabisRights.org will be up and running this week, we have a film crew on standby and we are now looking for patients to go on the record. We can beat them with their own tools on their field!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
