Question about outside daylight
Well, it never really just switches over to 12/12... It gradually works its way toward 12/12. June 21 is the longest day of the year (daylight hours-wise), after which the daylight starts getting shorter, and December 21 is the shortest day, after which the days start getting longer again.

Question about outside daylight
Typically, the sun is overpowering for plants going outside from indoors. Some people will ease them into it. 2 hours outside one day, 3-4 the next. You get the drift. I try to get them out when it is supposed to cloudy for a few days, helps alot too I think.
Good luck with your ventures this summer!

Question about outside daylight
If you can put them out in the shade where they will pick up a few hours before sun set is what works for me. In a week like this they go in the ground w/o to much stress at all.
