Move Them, or Leave Them? Need opinions!
I am a newbie grower, and I am probably being way too attentive and critical to the process. But I have grown one plant in the past, which turned out to be a total dud. So I really wanna get it right this time!
I have my plants outdoors and in the ground. They are about 15 inches tall, and in vegetative state. I expected them to get approx 12 hours of light, 8 hours being direct sunlight. However, they are only getting 12 hours light, 6 hours being direct sunlight.. They are literally 3 feet short of the ideal spot... ughhh.
Basically my question is: would the risk of digging them up and moving them be worth the extra 2-3 hours of direct sunlight they would get in the new spot?greenthmb Reviewed by greenthmb on . Awesome, thank you so much for the replies and willingness to help.
I have six plants total. I purchased two clones from a dispensary 1 week ago. One is good ol' fashioned skunk, and the other is sweet hawaiian skunk. Another one of them (which is also a clone, but was a gift so not sure what strain) was already flowering when I got it, so I am hoping it will go back into vegetative state. And finally, I threw some seeds from some decent smoke in the ground, and I got 3 healthy plants. The clones have been in the ground for about 1 week and are about 15 inches tall, and the ones started from seeds are about 2 weeks old and are about 8-9 inches tall.
They all get about 6-7 hours direct sunlight, but everything I read says that the more sun, the better. Also, I planted them in my veggie garden in order to camo them some what, and I planted them at the back of the garden, which is right next to a fence... Once I started thinking about it, someone could just knock the fence boards out and steal my whole crop. I am just kicking myself in the ass for planting them where I did. I was just too anxious to get them into the ground.
I will leave them where they're at for now. I know that moving them could wipe them all out... I am just worried about thieves now..
I am currently giving them the Fox Farm nutes, and water only when dry. I have only given the nutes once, with some mild nute burn the next day..I am going to decrease the concentration to about 1/4 and gradually increase to full strength.
Should I test the pH of the soil?
What about trimming/topping them?
The more I read on how to properly grow marijuana, the more complex it gets.. Why is it called "weed" if it's such a touchy plant to grow?! Shit, now I know why I pay so much for it.But soo worth it. They are such beautiful plants, and I'd like to keep mine that way!
I will post some pics tomorrow, too late tonight. I will continue updating as well. Nice to have some experts to guide me along the way! Happy growing!!!!

Don't fret, 6 hours per day of full sun is quite sufficient.

They are so easy to grow, like a weed. Its just that you put time into it and luv, so i understand by reading, it could freak you out. But these issues your reading is here for people to learn from, its not here to worry you. So just ignore that crap, till an issue comes up and bang, you can recall something you read or saw here, which could fix a problem. Dont worry so much man, cuz it can drive ya nuts. And if you do have a problem, we are here to help. You put your reading in, which is something some people dont, so your a step ahead man. Just try not to worry, i know its not easy as i too can freak once an awhile too.

...better to keep 'em where they are, instead of stressing 'em out by moving them unnecessarily. The camo-@-back-of-garden thing should be of some use, and having 'em next to the fence might even shield 'em from harsh weather, should M.Nature come knockin'... And yes, the amount of sunshine they're getting should be fine...
I might suggest investing in a PH (cheapie!) test kit, just so you can PH your nute/water for 'em, though... other than that, and perhaps some inexpensive (proper!) nutrients, just let 'em run! They are weeds, after all, and remarkably resilient (though you shouldn't stress 'em out for fun!)
TAKE some PIX! We'd love to see the lil' darlin's!

I disagree on the Ph pen, your growing outside with this being your first good grow. Don't over think shit. If you were indoor i might say yeah, but lets get through this outdoor first:thumbsup:
Just start nutes at 1/4, then build up on them. And make sure you water in between adding nutes. You dont want any build up of them in the ground and in less your the weather dude, cuz ya never know if its going to rain, which will wash some nutes into the ground.
Keep er grreen bro:hippy:

OK, so here's an update... They kinda look like sh*t. No new growth, the very tips of the leaves are burnt, and the bottom leaves are turning yellow. The weather here in Northern Cali has been lame, which may be contributing to the problem. It's been cloudy with small spurts of sunshine. I think it may even rain. :/
Is it over or under fertilization!?!? If the problem is over fertilization (they were fert. the first time on 5/18), then will the rain help to dilute it? Should I continue fertilizing on a weekly basis, or back off for a couple weeks? Ughh, all of the problem charts and troubleshooting tools I find show similar symptoms for over/under-fert., which is making it difficult for me to know what to do from here...
Could it just be that the clones are suffering a bit from the environment change?
Is there anything I can do for them?
I use cannabis medicinally for my anxiety/ocd.. never thought that growing it could contribute to my ailments! LOL. Someone please give me your thoughts, I am going crazy on what to do for these gals.. Leave them alone? Should I post new pics with the symptoms?

Oh yeah, and for the clone that flowered early... do I leave the little buds on there? Or take them off? They are not fully developed buds, just a sneak peak at what they will become.
