    Sustitution Concerns & Questions

    Hey guys,

I have recently stumbled upon this site in my quest for all knowledge available to pass my upcoming drug test. I can't thank the quality contributors of this site enough for the wealth of information I have received.

Like many of us on this site, I am being forced to submit a urine sample for a pre-employment drug test. I am fresh out of college and have a shot at a $60k a year job and cannot ruin this opportunity.

To be 110% absolutely sure I pass this test, I have decided that substitution would be my best option. I have been studying the threads all weekend and read all the stickies. I just hope you guys don't mind me asking a few questions for some peace of mind. I have passed a drug test before, but did it the natural way and abstained for a month and half beforehand. This will be my first go around at substitution - so I am naturally a bit nervous.

    On to my questions:

1.) I have been practicing with a 2.5oz travel shampoo bottle tucked into my groin and wearing Under Armor type underwear. Most of my samples range in the 97.5 to 98 degrees range fresh out of the ole talliwacker. Most of my runs have been about 30 minutes stashed under the nuts and I have been getting around 96 to 96.5 degrees after that time frame. I will be going to the same facility I went to for my previous drug test and it took me a good 45 to 60 minutes before I was even called up. How close to 98 degrees should I be shooting for? My Chain of Custody form (LabCorp) has a notes section for 90 to 100 degrees. As long as I am in this range, should I have anything to worry about? Assuming it is the same lady as last time, I did not even see her take the temp before sealing my sample or see a temp strip on the collection cup for that matter. What is the verdict on temperature ranges?

2.) I have two sources of clean urine. My brother who is 100% clean but taking a few prescription medications for high blood pressure. Statins if I recall correctly. I have been unable to find any info on statins and false positives, but I am still weary about this as I would prefer to disclose all medications to the tech to prevent any confusion or red flags. However, I would be hard pressed to submit any official paperwork for the prescription if it came down to it. My second, and preferred option, is my girlfriend. She is the stubborn type who barely wants to take Advil when she has a headache so she is definitely 100% clean. Only concern here is that she is on birth control. Before I get flamed, I have read a hundred times that gender does NOT matter, so I am not concerned about that. Just a little concerned about the birth control affecting things. I have come across a few threads here with the same question and it seems the universal answer is birth control has no affect. I was just hoping for a little more reinforcement that birth control should cause no worries. Any success stories from people who have used urine from a female on birth control would be nice. Any advice on which donor to use?

Last but not least (for now anyways),

3.) Any insight into this type of test? It is a LabCorp facility and the Chain of Custody reads "[ ] 1-9 Panel." I assume this simply means a 9 drug type EMIT type test. Please correct me if I am wrong. The company is quasi-government, so I was curious if maybe they might be using any kind of advanced testing. Also, there does not appear to be any information filled out for an MRO. Just the address of a human resources outsourcing company.

Sorry for the long post, I just gotta be damn sure about this. As I said, this job would be a life-changing accomplishment and would really jump start my career path. And to all you nay-sayers out there who want to tell me that I shouldn't be smoking herb while I am applying for jobs, this drug test was sprung on me at the last second. In my last experience, I was given AMPLE notice and did not need to take my drug test for several months so I was able to get clean. I will also be cutting way back, if not entirely, on my habit as I begin my adult working life.

Any comments, advice, suggestions and insight is GREATLY appreciated and I will definitely be sure to give back to the community with updates and results of how everything goes.

    Sustitution Concerns & Questions

    UPDATE:

Unless I am completely missing it, I can not find any test identification information other than the "[ ] Profile 1-9 Panel" info under the tests required by employer section.

Doing a quick search on LabCorp's website, the only 9 panel drug test I was able to find is this one.

    Any insight would be great.

1: 90 to 100 range is the standard, any where in that range is good but the closer you get to 98 is the best. If its a little low rub your thumb against your clothes for a couple seconds then hold it against the temp strip on the collection cup for a couple seconds. When it says 98 walk out of the room.

2:False negatives can be a problem. If it hits on the blood pressure medication its not too big of deal. They'll send it to GC/MS for confirmation and show that its not one of the regulated substances and you'll be fine.
I have never heard of birth control pills hitting a false negative but if it did it coulld be a problem if you're a male.

3:Sould just be the standard drug test.

Synthetic is still the better option if you can come up with some.

    Sustitution Concerns & Questions

    Thanks for your response killerweed420.

If anyone else out there has any responses I would greatly appreciate it. Tomorrow morning is judgement day and I could use all the help/reassurance I can get.

As to your response, killerweed420, could you clarify a little bit more on question 2. If I were to use my brothers - in what way do you mean the blood pressure medication would not be too big a deal. Are you saying that if I disclose that I am on such and such blood pressure medication and a positive occurs, the GC/MS will confirm that it is blood pressure medication and that will be the end of the story? No confirmation of prescriptions with a pharmacy/doctor?

My logic with birth control is that, if it caused a positive and they sent it through the GC/MS they would still not find anything. Birth control is just a hormone, and for a simple pre-employment drug screening, they would not do any expensive hormone profiling test so I would still be in the clear. Does this sound like a reasonable argument?

As far as synthetic goes, I get the feeling that it is hit or miss. I know there are plenty of success stories on this board, but there are also plenty of failure stories. And all this mumbo jumbo about batch numbers and defective batches gets me nervous. I would have to purchase locally as I need it ASAP, and I am not even sure if any local head shops carry it let alone if they have any good batches laying around. I live in a smaller city with only a handful of head shops and wouldn't think they go through a big amount of the product. Maybe I can take a trip out tonight to see. Any info on what batches to look for?

Please keep the great responses coming.

Birth control meds are not tested on any drug test. Your GFs sample is fine to use, providing that its known to be free of THC metabolites or metabolites of any other drug of abuse.

BP meds are not a banned substance so there would be no followup. Either is birth control meds but I would be a little concerned they would connect the dots and wonder why a male tested positive for birth control meds. I think the odds are very low that it would be flagged during the emit test. But the emit test is very inacurate and I have seen lots of substances give false postitives with the emit test.
