GILPIN COUNTY - Deputies are investigating after a medical marijuana dispensary was robbed on Sunday morning.
The Gilpin County Sheriff's Office says the robbery happened at a dispensary in the 300 block of Patricia Road around 7:45 a.m.
Witnesses say two men went inside and one may have had a handgun. The people inside the dispensary ran outside during the robbery and are safe, according to deputies.
Investigators are looking for the robbers. Deputies say one of the men was wearing a blue hoodie and coveralls.
Tried the link and it said the page was removed or deleted from 9news. Could they actually be checking facts???? Unheard of from a local news organization.
THC is my number one! Although I haven't been there in months, primarily because of their secluded location. Damn I just called 'em 3-4 days ago and was thinking about a possible trip up this weekend. Guess not anymore.
I think Aran is on this board in some capacity as I once mentioned it to him and he knew me by my screen name. Glad to hear that those guys are OK.
However, I remember the first time I went to THC was when a lot of robbery talk was going on in Denver. I remember being really worried for their security because when I first went up it was just 1-2 guys in the middle of nowhere with like 10# of the finest herb CO has to offer. They had a big dog too. But I remember being concerned for their security. So much so that I didn't post about it on here so as to not give anyone ideas! However, now I wish I would've. I figured maybe they had a gun or something.
Man, I know this sucks bad but I'm so grateful everyone is OK and that this wasn't a true raid!
Hope THC didn't get hit too hard either. I know they were taking bout moving from that house soon, so hopefully their activities out there were tapering down. It would have been cooler though if they shot and wounded the burglars!!
EDIT: 9News took it down because it's complete misinformation. There is an eyewitness report who watched the whole thing go down. This was a raid!
...from the play-by-play on ICMag that sure doesn't sound like a robbery!! Sounds more like a raid! Blocking off the street, carrying around pieces of paper (warrant), sounds like there were at least 4-5 people and more cars were showing up as time went on. Just doesn't sounds like a robbery to me... and I'd probably take this guy's word over 9News as it sounds like he was sitting right out of view in the trees watching the whole thing go down!
If this was a robbery, sounds like the most coordinated rippers ever... taking plenty of time to stage a raid and going ALL OUT to do it (blocking streets, bringing in tons of people w/ guns, etc.).
I would just put a warning out to would be theives, that think us mountain folk are an easy target I say beware. The police believe in what we are doing up here and they don't take kindly to flat landers coming up here with guns. The Gilpin Sherrifs Dept responded in assualt mode and they dam well should.
GM, it's sounding more and more like a raid... I think that's why the story was removed.
Follow Funkfingers thread and read the eyewitness account on ICMag. They were cops or rippers who put on a flawless raid performance with multiple actors and cars and roadblocks and prop warrants and clipboards and questioning in the back of the truck... etc.
