I'm a science person, so I work exclusively in metric. On the street an ounce is well know as 28.0 grams, when in reality one ounce is 28.3495 grams.

most mass limits for the folks here is 6 ounces. 6 x 28.3495 = 170.097. On the street this is 6 oz x 28 g = 168g. This is only a difference of .3495 of a gram, which is enough to roll a nice fat joint. At 6 ounce with the true metric conversion, a gain of 2 grams are gained, about 6 fat joints.

Now I have two questions about this.

If you are stopped with 170.097g(which is an exact US ounce, actually 28.3495231g = 1 oz, so 170.097g is still under 1 oz), but you are taken in anyway because everyone has been conditioned to the 28 ounces is one gram, its not. Could a case be made in court about this.

The second questions is, should the producers of legal cannabis continue to use false measures created by street dealers or should they calculate by a real US ounce
