On the street an ounce is well know as 28.0 grams, when in reality one ounce is 28.3495 grams. most mass limits for the folks here is 6 ounces. 6 x 28.3495 = 170.097. On the street this is 6 oz x 28 g = 168g. This is only a difference of .3495 of a gram, which is enough to roll a nice fat joint. At 6 ounce with the true metric conversion, a gain of 2 grams are gained, about 6 fat joints. Now I have two questions about this. If you Rating: 5

Seems to be alot of heat in this discussion......I got an idea.....how about you just smoke it? There really wasn't any math. Just conversion factors. One factor was the street mass. 1 oz = 28 grams or a true or the true conversion factor which is 1 oz = 28.3495.

I do see my error now. My intention was to say 170.097 grams is still under 6 oz, the max amount I'm allowed to have. The second paragraph shows how I got the 170.097 gram figure.

I have over 20 years in the service, got my card because of PTSD. Went to college with the VA money. Only been a teacher for 5 years.

Thick skin. You come off saying things like retarded as a derogatory term. Now if there is one thing I do know as a high school teacher, that retarded term is used on a regular basis by my 15 year old students.

Thanks for educating me at least on weghts and measures as I have dyscaculia which is a math learning disorder.Now I will know once I relocate to New Mexico and receive my card what to look out for but how should I deal with the provider?I do have a small scale that registers both standard and metric should I challene them right then and there when picking up my medicine?I would also like to thank you for your service I also have PTSD as one of my conditions but not service related just my (egg beaeter)Mother abusing me I still have a bullet that is by my spine which strain would you recommend?

Just a suggestion Washeout......but I don't recommend challenging ANYTHING with a NM producer.....you are gonna be lucky to even get any in the first place when you get here. No disrespect, but honestly, us NM residents are LUCKY to get what we get....I've been a card holder for 3 months and have yet to have a hit of the kind.

...I kinda figg'rd that you meant 170.???gm is a whisker less than 6 true ounces. Besides that, it could still be a dodge in court, if one were caught travelling with just that amount, or just under.

UP in my neck 'o the woods, I can travel with up to 90g on my person at any given time (my monthly 'allotment'), and I can have up to 675g as a 'personal' stash at home. Nice thing about the travel bit is that I can legally FLY with the stuph! Hello, airport dickheads! See the nice card? Now leave me alone I don't want to test that theory on most international flights, but I might, to places that have similar MMJ laws

Thank you very much I feel like I am back taking baby steps and all but at least the system is doing something in NM.Where as is Washington you are left out because the way the law was and is structured.No providers and the 3 Docs that we have charge you 400 smackaroos and still no cards are issued and the state refuses to set up a card system because it's not written in the law.

Washedout, like firestartersydd stated, don't challenge the mass of the product. 28 grams an ounce won't change, its what the system is based on.

My thread was just in jest, showing the difference and wondering if the difference could be fought in court. One poster stated that California law uses 28.5 grams as the limit for an ounce.
