Purple Kush... Newbie... help please
Hi,
I got stuck tending to my BF's room and I need some quick help.
We are starting second week of flower tomorrow and I was wondering when the colas start getting fuzzy. Right now it just looks like new growth at the tops. I see a pistils on the preflowers but not to many on the tops yet. Just wondering when to expect those.

...so, I may be able to hep ya...
My girls are just going into their second week of flowering, and so are a weeee bit farther along than your'n, but they are still only just starting to show lots of pistils and some definite flowertops. The girls spent something like 6-7 weeks in veg.
They've also suffered a bit of heat stress due to a fan malfunction one week ago, and had to suffer a full lollypopping / defense trim after, so I may have set 'em back about 2-3 days. They're nice and bushy and busy again, tho, so I know they're healthy. Don't worry too much--this is a resilient plant, after all.
Not sure what your BF's instructions might have been, or whether it's a hydro or dirt/pretenda-dirt setup, or for how long you're tending, but have a coupla recommendations for you (unless you've done this before, and can tell me to sh't up, naoh.):
Keep a close eye on Ph, whether you have to top up a resevoir (res), or do some watering. I find it easiest to get a 5ga bucket of clean water ready, and then Ph the whole thing (should be 5.7 for hydro, 6-6.2 for dirt), rather than do individual gallons. Once this is done, I fill a 1ga water bottle, and put whatever nutrient (nute) mixture I need, for the plant at hand.
My girls in dirt get most of their nutes at ½ strength, bonus stuph at full strength. My girls in passive / active hydro get full strength nutes. Watering is usually about 3-4 days with the hydro girls getting a res-and-root-rinse in the shower every week (this is my own particular madness). Nutes are every-other-watering.
Other than making sure the fans are on (temp should max at 78-83f), and the smell is down, and not doing any heat-score-y things like having loud, cop-hatin' parties, enjoy the gardening! :weedpoke:
I find that just tending these plants is good for the soul. The picture I've attached is one of my plants that isn't Purple Kush, but White Widow of roughly the same age (possibly a week behind the kushies). Flowers are just starting to develop... Mmmm... flowerssss..... agharhaheagharhahgaghgh...
